Ways to Support Us

Thank you for considering a gift to SSM Health St. Mary’s Foundation - Madison.

Aside from major capital campaigns, Greatest Need funding has the greatest impact on SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital's patients, families, and staff each year. These gifts are vital to the work of the Foundation and provide the most flexibility to meet the emerging needs of the Hospital.

Please consider making an annual gift to support Hospital Greatest Need or any other fund of your choice in support of St. Mary’s Hospital and our local SSM Health ministries.

One-time or recurring donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. We also accept pledges with payments spread out over 4 years. Annual gifts of $1,000 or more will continue to be recognized at the Leadership Giving Circle and celebrated at the Spring/Summer Garden Reception.

Types of Gifts

Memorials & Tributes

Celebrate a milestone, honor someone special, or remember a loved one.

All gifts to SSM Health St. Mary’s can be made ‘In Memory’ or ‘In Honor’ of someone special. Your gift can be designated to the fund of your choice, and you may provide the name and address of a person or family you wish to be informed of your tribute. Gift amounts are never shared.

Funeral Memorials

If you have recently lost a loved one and would like to direct memorials to SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital or SSM Health St. Mary’s Care Center, it’s important that you include your wishes in the obituary notice. Wording most often used is, “The family asks that memorial gifts be made to St. Mary’s Foundation, 700 S. Park St, Madison, WI 53715 or visit www.givetossmhealth.org/stmarysfoundation.”

Please contact the Foundation with questions about designating memorial gifts to a specific area within St. Mary’s Hospital or SSM Health St. Mary’s Care Center prior to publication.

Endowments

A memorial or tribute gift can be established in the form of a named endowment with a minimum gift of $25,000 to fund a specific interest that is consistent with the mission and goals of St. Mary’s Hospital. 

With an endowment, the principal is invested to create a source of income. Only the earnings are used to support the purpose for which the endowment was established. 

Your tribute gift will provide a lasting memory of the honored person and will benefit your chosen cause in perpetuity. Learn more about Endowments. 

Planned Giving

When you give a planned gift for the future, you are leaving a legacy – a reflection of your values, priorities and commitment to support exceptional health care in your community. We encourage you to discuss with your tax and/or financial advisor what is best for you and your financial planning and tax situation. Learn how to leave a legacy.

Matching Gifts

Increase the value of your donation to SSM Health St. Mary's Foundation by applying for a matching gift from your employer. This is a great way to provide additional support to SSM Health St. Mary's or SSM Health St. Mary's Care Center at no added cost to you. Check with your employer for details.

In-Kind Donations

Due to space and health safety restrictions, we are unable to accept gifts of plants, furniture, artwork, soft toys, clothes, food or latex balloons.
