Since its founding in 1872 by the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, SSM Health has been committed to providing the highest quality health care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. In 2015, SSM Health provided over $90 million of charitable care to patients across the St. Louis and St. Charles regions. Through the years, while technology and medicine have changed,
SSM Health’s commitment to delivering high quality health care that is affordable, sustainable and convenient for every patient has remained steadfast.
With support from generous donors, SSM Health continues our legacy of providing care for all, while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. With your generosity we can continue to provide the latest technology and training to our medical staff, expand and enhance our patient rooms, and respond to the growing need for programs and resources that promote health and wellness, to better serve our patients and their families.
Every day we are able to positively impact hundreds of lives and create inspiring stories of healing. Stories like Andrew’s, a patient at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. Andrew was working at a chimp sanctuary in South Africa when he suffered an animal attack. A team of physicians and caregivers at SSM Health SLU Hospital, worked to bring Andrew back to St. Louis and fought to save his life; repairing damage to his limbs and body through innovative regenerative medicine and plastic surgery.
Or Michael, who was rushed from his local community hospital to SSM Health DePaul Hospital, the region’s leader in treating neurological disorders. After experiencing dizziness and problems with his vision, it became clear that Michael had a life-threatening brain tumor that required immediate surgery. With the most advanced technology available, Michael received the priceless gift of healing and compassion.
With your help we can continue to ensure all patients have access to exceptional care in a compassionate environment. Please join us in our commitment to healing and consider a gift this Christmas season that will touch the lives of many throughout the year.
